Orin Schepps’s company is a one-man enterprise, but he claims to have found his silent partner in PaperSave. The CPA started Consultance Business Solutions in late 2007 with the goal of providing high-level accounting and bookkeeping expertise to small and medium businesses.

Thanks to PaperSave, Schepps provides a service his competitors don’t: “I’m saying we can not only keep track of your accounting records but we can also do electronic document storage where you’ll no longer need to keep paper copies once you’ve exported them to us,” he explains.

Having previously worked for major corporations that employed electronic documentation software, Schepps says he learned to leverage as much technology as possible into the way he processes books: “I said to myself, how do you want to set up your accounting practice that will allow you to offer the highest level of service to your clients and, at the same time, will allow you to do the work yourself [and] be compensated?

“I knew I had to build in many efficiencies into the process regarding how I was going to handle recording information, transmitting information and communication with clients. How I was going to make the best use of my time?”

A certified ProAdvisor, Schepps was on the QuickBooks® web site researching different add-ons for document storage and financial reporting when he found the answer. “PaperSave seemed to me like the best application and the most user-friendly and the easiest for me to implement. You are able to build a specific transaction in QuickBooks® and then attach the document to that transaction. So it has the drill-down capability that more powerful accounting software programs have built in.”
